Nineteen Eighty-Four – Yeah yeah… we get it… or do we?

George Orwell: "1984"

Nineteen Eighty-Four is George Orwell’s classic dystopian novel where romantic love, sexuality based on love, privacy, individualism, independent thinking, integrity, striving for historical accuracy, and critiquing the government are basically squashed.

I’ve made some highlights at LINER so it’s not necessary to rehash the plot here. We all know what Nineteen Eighty-Four stands for and how we should do everything possible to try to avoid it.

So I direct interested readers to my LINER notes and the Wikipedia entry they’re based on.

Also of interest – Reelin’ in the Years – 1984  (an autobiography of sorts through music)

This might seem like a bit of a cop-out but the thought of spending hours revising this entry makes me feel like a kid faced with a high school English project that he doesn’t want to do.

Well, I’m not in high school anymore. So frack that. Let those third-rate academics and other stooges under the thumb of their Local Neighborhood Big Brother do the regurgitating.

I’ve got better things to do.
