Aries (Latin aries = ram; March 21-April 20) The first sign of the zodiac, symbolized by the ram and associated with the planetary ruler of Mars.
The constellation of the Ram lies between Pisces and Taurus. Its most prominent star is Hamal.
In contemporary astrological lore Aries is said to be a restless, springtime sign, full of all the potential and power of a good March storm.
Its element is Fire. From Mars it apparently acquires a bellicose nature but astrologers say this may be tempered if Aries uses its high intelligence benevolently.
